Model Airplanes declare war at the electric flight expo

Aviation legends from the Tuskegee Airmen to speak at the world’s largest indoor RC Expo

(GLENDALE, AZ --- March 5, 2009)  Global Spectrum, in conjunction with EFX Productions, announced today that the world’s largest indoor radio controlled (RC) flight exhibition will take place at the stadium March 13-15, 2009. The 3 day event will feature hobby exhibitors, flight competitions/exhibitions along with numerous educational elements involving aerospace careers, technology, and hobbies. In addition, attendees will be able to fly radio controlled aircraft with the help of trained instructors in a designated outdoor flight instruction area.

Saturday will feature a noontime tribute to our servicemen and women, past and present. Following a speech from WWII Tuskegee Airman, Dr. Thurston Gaines, 30 WWII RC airplanes will take part in a WWII reenactment that will be sure to thrill. Complete with a 21’ aircraft carrier, dogfights, and a pyrotechnics show this is the first indoor event of its kind. Tickets for the event are only $10 for adults, kids (6-12) $7.50, each day and can be purchased at the stadium ticket office and all Ticketmaster locations.  In addition, the event will be collecting donations for the Snowball Express foundation, an organization dedicated to bringing a few days of joy to the children and spouses of men and women of the armed forces who made the ultimate sacrifice since September 11, 2001

Electric Flight Expo will utilize 80,000 square feet of the stadium for flight competitions and another 80,000 sq. ft. will be dedicated to exhibit space for the hobby and aviation industry.
